At the July meeting of the ECFA, the membership heard the recommendations from the Nominations Committee for the following seats: Secretary, Ronnie Hayes; Treasurer, Chris Smith; Second Vice President, Doug Bissette. All executive board terms are 1 year. That recommendation was approved, and they were elected to those positions by the membership.
Per the association bylaws, the positions of 1st Vice President and President rise automatically. This procedure is in line with NCSFA bylaws. Ben Smith is now 1st Vice President and Glenn Rainey now serves as President of the association. Scott Rogers has agreed to continue as past president. Outgoing president Bradley Kinlaw has relocated to the Piedmont region and was unable to fulfill the duties of the past president. The board wishes to express our appreciation to President Kinlaw. He has headed up our vendors at the annual Fall Public Safety College for many years. We will miss his experience on our board.
There were also two new members on the board. Edwin Ezzell from Old Dock Cypress Creek VFD and James Strickland from Morehead City Fire EMS were appointed to vacancies on the board. Please join us in welcoming Edwin and James to the board!
