The Fight For Me Foundation will be hosting a softball tournament on May 6th in Wilson, and are looking for teams!
The foundation was started as a way to help firefighters in need around the Wilson County area. This will be the first of many fundraisers for the foundation. For the inaugural fundraiser the group is hosting a Softball Tournament at Toisnot Park in Wilson.
Selected as the first recipient of the foundation is retired Firefighter Tommy Deans. Tommy was forced to retire due to back injuries. Those injuries have persisted and he now faces spinal fusion surgery. Insurance coverage isn’t sufficient to cover all of his medical costs. Organizers hope the tournament will help provide some financial relief for Tommy and his family, as well as kick off this project and be able to assist other Brothers and Sisters as much as possible. Their goal is to hopefully continue to expand the areas they can serve.
The Fight For Me Foundation is hoping for a large turnout at this fundraiser and to become an annual event, with different fundraisers being held throughout the year.
Register your team today! There is a lot of bragging rights on the line since this is the first tournament. Download the flyer here for more information. The foundation can also use folks to help during the tournament, and to help with future fundraisers. Are you up to the challenge?
