At the first ever virtual meeting of the ECFA. the board of directors welcomed two new members, and said goodbye to two long serving members.
Chris Gurley, with the Belfast VFD in Wayne County, chose not to seek another term on the ECFA board. Chris was one of the longest serving members on the board and a strong proponent of the fire service, especially volunteers. Chris’ presence will be missed and we thank his for his years of dedicated service.
Scott Rogers, with Nash County Emergency Services, also chose not to seek another term on the board as he has his hands full as the incoming president of the NC State Firefighters’ Association. Scott is a strong advocate of the fire service, not just in the East, but statewide. The board is grateful for his dedication and leadership to the ECFA.
The board is pleased to announce that Allen Wilson, chief of the Surf City FD has joined the board, as well as Douglas Todd, chief of the Tri-Beach VFD. We look forward to having both with us, sharing their experience and enthusiasm of the fire service with our members.
