Your information will be forwarded to the President and the Nomination Committee chairperson and be reviewed for compliance with the bylaws.
ECFA board seats will be filled as vacancies occur and in accordance with the bylaws. The executive officers of the Association shall consist of the President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
There shall be a Board of Directors consisting of the executive officers, immediate past president, Chaplain and eight directors. The eight directors shall be appointed by the Board of Directors under the direction of the President. Two or Three directors shall be appointed each year for Three-year term depending on rotation.
Board members should be able to attend all quarterly meetings, with most board meetings beginning in the early afternoon, followed by the general meetings that evening. Travel distance will vary greatly. Board members are also expected to attend the annual Public Safety College weekend in early October to assist with set up, running and tear down of the college. Hotel accommodations are provided for that school. ECFA Board members are also encouraged to attend events such as Legislative Day in Raleigh. Specific duties of executive board members are explained in our bylaws.
Every three years, the Eastern Association will make appointments to our partner agencies according to the requirements of the respective state board’s bylaws. As mentioned above, those partners include the NC State Firefighters Association, NC Association of Fire Chiefs and NC Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
